    Hey,

With all due respect, I’d request the vixture team to reconsider these rules after a little research into the fifa players gaming community …

Getting a shot on target for example on these next gen consoles, is near impossible with manual shooting.. which is precisely why EA offers the assists in the first place. Every other tournament involving FIFA08 has offered the assists to gamers, including the FIFA interactive world cup, probably the biggest fifa gaming event.

My point here being that with a 2 minute or 4 minute half, by disabling the assists for shooting or passing, your only inviting 0-0 draws because players wont be able to create chances and thus get any shorts on target. Firstly, there’s hardly any time and then to complicate matters, your multiplying the difficulty four-old.

Lastly, the default control settings on FIFA enables all assists.. All assists are active by default. I’d say that this hints at the fact that manual shooting is way too complicated as it takes into factor a lot of game physics.. thanks to the potential of the next gen consoles.

Please do consider this.. I can’t think of one tournament where playing on manual was a must. I absolutely understand your concern and thought to keep everything manual, which was probably done to maximize user input and offer complete control to the player, but with the 4 minute limit this factor wouldn’t benefit anyone.

I am confident that this would be the opinion of most fifa players.I welcome you to take an opinion.

    Thank you.

Vixture Admin: The revised rules are available here. Kindly check it.

    hi,

what does this sentence exactly mean , “All passing will be manual — no assisted passes (pass/through pass/shot/cross/lob pass)”

Vixture Admin: It means that passing will have to be done manually by the player & no assist would be available.

    ONLY FRANCE AND ITALY ?!?!?!
i must say for a game offered so much depth it is pure apathy to let players chose from just 2 teams, is there any logic behind this or do u just wanna have total control and not let medling kids come crying to you post losing against barca?
The rules of FIFA IWC made some sense, even though a bunch of stupid gamers kept chosing barca all the time.
However Kudos to implementing manual passing as ure letting a new generation of gamers show some class and skill with this one.
The kind of game FIFA 08 is, its the true nature of competition with its freestyle total football, and u r seriously restricting it in terms of team selection, for a game i have been playing professionally for the last 10 years. Your ruleset will upset the entire fifa gaming community once i have posted your rules on our site.

Vixture Admin: The rules for the Elimination Leg are as simple and straight forward as mentioned, as the number of teams turning up would be high. However do expect a different set of rules for the Finals , which shall be updated after the Mumbai Elimination Leg.

    Hello Admin,

I just looked at the rules for the finals.. Only France & Italy again ??? … You responded in a positive manner for this to change for the finals on an earlier post by anuraag.. Please could you confirm on this again, as to why other teams can’t be used ??

Also, it says passing is assisted, does this mean only passing or all passing, that is through balls, lob and crosses ? & shooting is still manual ?.. Could you please look into these minor things.. That would really be appreciated.

@anuraag : Barca is a strong team purely because the real world Barcelona club is strong, atleast on paper … before the season began, when the game was made.. they were strong.. Doesn’t mean they are invincible.. I’m guessing you were one of those cry babies at FIWC.. nevermind!
